In 2019, Victoria Stawowy-Mokos joined Poly’s Math Department. She teaches sophomores Algebra II and a small advanced class of Grade 6 students taking Grade 7math. Victoria, who grew up in Brooklyn, was always the one explaining math to her classmates in high school and they told her she would make a great math teacher. Her own high school Algebra II teacher was a model for the structure she uses in her classes today. Victoria, who graduated from St. Joseph’s College, tries to apply Algebra II to the real world. She is a motivator and wants her students to believe they can do Algebra II. When not at Poly, Victoria is enjoying life with her French bulldog, Romeo, who, she says, loves to sleep and take short walks.
